Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman Android Phone

The Sony Ericsson W8 is an attempt to revive the Walkman brand and bring it to the world of modern smartphones with the help of Android. Built by using the Xperia X8 as a template, the W8 promises to deliver outstanding audio performance while being an affordable entry-level Android device at the same time.

The Sony Ericsson W8 sports a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 3.2MP camera. Under the hood there’s a 600MHz single-core processor ticking, with 168MB of RAM.

Nokia unveils MeeGo-powered N9 smartphone

Nokia MeeGo-powered N9 smartphone Finnish cellphone maker Nokia unveiled its N9 smartphone in Singapore on Tuesday, its only bet on the MeeGo platform.

The commercial launch will be later this year, CEO Stephen Elop said. Nokia dumped plans to use MeeGo in its future smartphones when in February it picked Microsoft’s Windows Phone as its future software choice, but it decided to unveil one of the models it was working on before closing the business line.

Nokia unveils touch & type C2-03 handset

Nokia C2-03 Touch & TypeNokia has unveiled its C2-03 model, a touch-and-type interface device combining a touchscreen and a keyboard, as part of its strategy to reach new users in emerging markets.

Mary McDowell, executive vice president in charge of low- end mobile phones, said the dual-SIM model will be “affordably priced” and feature maps and location-based services. McDowell, speaking at an event in Singapore, said the phone won’t require a data plan and that its location will be transmitted through wireless towers.

The smartphone is a 3G and Wi–Fi enabled QWERTY phone with an optical track pad. Micromax Q80’s main feature Ezmail is a push email service from Micromax that allows the users to receive their mails instantly. Q80 is a dual SIM phone which is designed to run both 3G and 2G enabled SIMs.
