Taiwanese electronic giant Asus finally pulled the curtains off its much-talked about Padfone at Computex 2011 in Taipei.
The smartphone-cum-table is divided into two halves- a smartphone and a tablet. According to Asus, Padfone explores the possible convergence between a mobile phone and a tablet.
The smartphone cradles inside the tablet when the device is in a tablet mode. SIM card is housed inside the smartphone section of the device, this also solves the multiple SIMs issue as the same connection can be used for 3G connectivity as well.
Though Asus has not announced what OS the device will run on, reports suggest that Padfone will come preloaded with Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS and launch in December.
