LG Electronics has refreshed its Optimus series with the addition of LG E730 or Optimus Sol. Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Optimus Sol sports a 3.8-inch “Ultra AMOLED” display.
According to LG, the new Ultra AMOLED display has a two-fold advanced reflection rate compared to standard AMOLED displays, which reduces image quality degradation.
At 9.8mm thickness, LG Optimus Sol boasts of 1GHz processor, Flash 10.1, 512MB RAM, 2GB internal memory and 1500 mAh battery.
LG claims that Optimus Sol uses an enhanced idle-based power management system that boosts battery life by 20 to 30 per cent. With the Dark UI (user interface), LG says Optimus Sol utilises less white light to extend the phone’s battery life.
Optimus Sol also packs a 5 megapixel camera with auto-shuttering and auto-focusing. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and aGPS.
The phone will be introduced in Europe beginning mid-September, followed by rollouts in Central and South America.
